Supergirl takes break for DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Supergirl is to take a break from The CW in the US while DC's Legends of Tomorrow takes its slot for several weeks in the New Year.
The channel announced yesterday (December 8) that Legends will air in Supergirl's slot for nine weeks on Monday nights.
New show Black Lightning will replace Legends on Tuesday nights now as part of the midseason schedule in the US.
That means that next year, Supergirl will return on January 15 before being replaced by Legends after four weeks on February 12.
But fret not, as Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) will be back after nine weeks on April 16 following the Legends season finale the preceding week.
Supergirl recently aired its midseason finale, which focused on Samantha Arias (Odette Annable) as she embraced her destiny as a secret weapon from a Kryptonian faction.
She eventually fully embraced her Reign identity, with a climactic final battle with Supergirl taking place that left us with a major cliffhanger, leaving Kara's fate up in the air.
Supergirl will return to US screens on Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 15) at 8pm ET. Sky One airs the show in the UK.
